CPP investment Board

The CPP Investment Board is pleased to be a sponsor of the 2009 Northern Finance Association’s Annual Conference.

With assets under management projected to more than double to $250 billion  by 2016, the CPP Investment Board invests one of the largest and fastest-growing single purpose pools of capital in the world.  Based in Toronto, North America’s second largest financial center , the CPP Investment Board operates at arm’s length from governments with an investment only mandate to maximize returns without undue risk of loss on behalf of the 17 million contributors and beneficiaries of the Canada Pension Plan. The organization is comprised of highly skilled and experienced investment professionals from leading global investment organizations.

The size of our portfolio, projected future cash inflows and long investment horizon have enabled us to build unique external partnerships that provide privileged access to the industry’s most inventive thinkers.  As a young organization equipped with a strong governance structure and a relatively unconstrained investment mandate, we are well-positioned to embrace new developments in the field of portfolio management.

Innovative ideas and advanced research are key to our success in our constant quest of designing one of the best portfolio management firms globally.  This is why we are delighted to encourage research and sponsor events such as the NFA that relate directly to innovation in portfolio management and asset pricing.
